As a continuation of the in-place major version upgrades for PostgreSQL release notes dated 08 Dec 2025, we now have in-place upgrade (IPU) for all major versions of PostgreSQL v14, v15, v16, and v17. This provides a streamlined path to v18.

As Ansible-core 2.9 has reached end of life (EOL), Schematics will upgrade its supported Ansible-core version to 2.18 on July 6th, 2026.

What is the impact of the change?

Starting July 6th, 2026, all Actions will run with Ansible-core 2.18 by default. To prepare for this change, you should:

1. Test your existing Actions with Ansible-core 2.18

2. Create and validate new Actions with Ansible-core 2.18

3. Remediate any compatibility issues before the upgrade date

What's changing?

In November 2023, IBM announced the general availability of IBM watsonx.governance and the end of marketing for IBM Watson OpenScale. IBM watsonx.governance includes all the capabilities of Watson OpenScale, along with additional capabilities for evaluating and monitoring generative AI assets.

Now that watsonx.governance has been available for more than two and a half years, IBM is announcing the deprecation of the IBM Watson OpenScale Standard V2 plan.

This enhancement eliminates the need to manage fragmented, single-cipher connections across different sites, significantly reducing management overhead while streamlining compliance with CISO security mandates.

Key capabilities include:

• Multi-cipher flexibility: Define multiple encryption, integrity, and Diffie-Hellman algorithms within a single custom policy.
• Intelligent negotiation: Set your own priority sequence, allowing the VPN gateway to negotiate the strongest mutually supported cipher during the handshake.

watsonx.ai Runtime was upgraded to use the scikit-learn library version 1.5.2. The upgrade addresses security vulnerabilities and ties in with other updates. Because of the upgrade, older versions of the scikit-learn library are deprecated and will be removed on 28 Jun 2026. This upgrade does not impact any software specifications on the runtime side, and you don't need to change your models in watsonx.ai Runtime.

IBM Cloud Event Notifications custom-domain email continues to evolve with new enhancements focused on enterprise communication reliability, security, and operational flexibility.

Recent updates include:

• Advanced delivery metrics and search capabilities
• An email sandbox for pre-production testing
• Attachment support up to 40 MB
• Expanded SMTP connectivity options with private endpoints, multi-domain credentials, and legacy port compatibility

The scikit-learn library used in SPSS Modeler Runtime is getting upgraded from v1.1.1 to v1.5.2 to address security vulnerabilities and align with upstream improvements. The older version v1.1.1 is deprecated and will be withdrawn on 28 Jun 2026. This change affects the following models that were built using older scikit-learn versions which include:

• Random Forest

• KDE

• HDBSCAN

• AutoClassifier (when Random Forest is enabled)

• Auto Numeric (when Random Forest is enabled)

Users will need to perform some rebuilding steps to migrate to the new version 1.5.2. For details, please take a look at our documentation.
