As of 25 Feb 2026, the App ID federated login option will be replaced with IBM Cloud SAML service provider. If you're currently using AppID, you can continue using it, but it will not be possible to add new App ID instances after 25 Feb 2026. We encourage you to switch to IBM Cloud SAML.

As of 1 January 2026, the prices are increased for VMware® software, Veeam® software, and VMware® Avi Load Balancer add-on.

• VMware software price is increased by 1% across all offerings.

Local-access VPE support for IBM Cloud Object Storage Object Storage now supports local-access Virtual Private Endpoints (VPEs) within DNS-shared VPCs. This feature lets customers route traffic to specific buckets directly from each shared VPC, improving performance and enabling finer access control with Context-Based Restriction (CBR) rules, security groups, and resource-level bindings. Feature update for IBM Cloud Object Storage Object Storage has enhanced the Object Lock feature with support for the GOVERNANCE retention mode. Compared to prior release, only COMPLIANCE mode and Legal Hold were supported, which provided strict Write Once Read Many (WORM) protections.
